The Weight Loss Diaries: Week 1...

My first week of healthy eating and exercise is done!
It's been difficult trying to eat varied food as I am an extremely fussy eater and I have been struggling to find snacks I like, other than crisps or chocolate!

Here is my Week by Numbers:

Weight Lost- 2.5 lbs

Meals Eaten per day- 3

Snacks Eaten per day- 1 or 2

Gym Sessions-  3

--------------------------------------------------------------------

If I am to be completely honest with my self, I was expecting to lose more weight in my first week, however I'm not going to complain! Two and a half pounds is far better than nothing, and even if I'm not rapidly dropping pounds, my body is definitely healthier than it was before.

This week I have tried so many new meals and almost everything I've eaten has been home made. I've drank so much more water and have had hardly any Diet Coke, which I previously drank all day every day.

I haven't been being unrealistic though. I've still had chocolate, almost everyday, just less of it. I'm still having cups of tea, but I've changed my sugar to sweetener, and I still had burger and chips for tea on Saturday, yet this time it wasn't frozen, pre-packaged or artificial, it was completely home-made and relatively healthy!

I've actually enjoyed going to the gym, thanks to short 45-60 minute sessions and good music! I've enjoyed building up my stamina, slowly but surely, so I don't lose focus. Each time I've gone I've tried to run for an extra minute on the treadmill without stopping, which has really helped encourage me as it's such a simple and achievable target, which doesn't seem impossible!

So, so far so good I guess!

Garnier Micellar Water : Review

I'm really not the 'reviewing' sort.
I never know how to write a good review, what to include etc.
But I really wanted to write something, anything, about this product, as it's truly changed my skincare routine.

Before using this product, I removed my make-up with a Garnier cleanser and a cheap eye make-up remover, then I used a Garnier toner and then a Simple moisturiser. I first started to hear about this product when bloggers, across the web, began to talk about it, and as it matched my cleanser and toner I thought I would give it a try.

Firstly, I was impressed that this product can remove make-up from my face, eyes and lips, so I am already saving money with not having to buy an eye make-up remover. I presumed that with the product removing make-up from my face and eyes it would either be too weak for my face make-up, or too strong for my eyes. However I was totally wrong. Somehow, Garnier has managed to find the perfect product to remove both face and eye make-up. The fact it can be used on eyes doesn't impact the power it has at removing your face make-up and the fact it removes things have tough as foundation and concealer, doesn't make it too strong, to the point where it stings your eyes (something many products have done to me in the past).

I only have to use 2 or 3 small cotton pads to remove my make-up, depending on how much I'm wearing, which is less than the amount of cleanser I had been using. And of course, now I get to remove my make-up and then cleanse instead of doing 2 in 1 like before, so it is much better for my skin!

This product claims to be 'even for sensitive skin' and although I can't talk on behalf of everyone I would say it definitely is. I have always had eczema and sensitive skin, especially around my eyes, yet this product hasn't irritated my face or caused any stinging or redness once! So top marks for that!

Finally, the packaging. Of course it's nothing special but it doesn't take much to win me over! The pink lid and good size was all I needed to convince me to purchase this. I buy it from Tesco for £3.99 and every now and again I've seen it reduced to around £2.50, so it's a great price!

Have you tried this product? Do you like it as much as me? What are your opinions on it? Share your thoughts in the comments..!

Huge Haul: Urban Outfitters, New Look, Primark, Ark & Bank!

Evening all!

Now that all of my online orders have arrived and I've finished going on my weekend shopping trips (not out of choice, I've just run out of money) I can finally show you everything I've treated myself to lately! Enjoy...

As you may or may not know, Bank is actually going to be closing down, meaning they have a huge sale on almost everything, so I would definitely recommend taking a look! I don't normally shop at Bank, however they had lot's of things I loved. It's a shame this is the last place I went, as by this point I'd ran out of money! I did get this shirt though and I really like it. I'm loving collars at the minute as I think they really suit me.

(now only available in red)

Urban Outfitters is one of those shops where every time I go in and have no money I see hundreds of things I want and then when I go in with money, I find nothing! It's so frustrating! However, I did pick up this and to be honest I think I bought it more for the sake of buying something, not because I was in love with it.
However, once I started wearing it I completely fell in love! I adore the colour, and don't have anything else in this shade. The print is lovely, it's super comfortable and it fits perfectly; which I'm thrilled with after the last thing I bought there ended up in a charity shop after not fitting properly and me not figuring it out until it was too late to be returned!

Jumper- Primark
(Primark don't have a website but I think this was around £12)

This was a complete impulse buy. I bought this on the day I met Jim Chapman. You will probably have seen the picture on my Twitter, but I was in such a good mood after having met him so unexpectedly and when I'm in a good mood I like to shop! So while strolling through Primark I just happened to pick this up and buy it, completely for no other reason than my insanely good mood!

However, I do really like it. I love the colour grey at the minute and this is the perfect copy of a jumper they had in Topshop recently, and obviously it's probably about a third of the price.

I absolutely love Ark at the minute, and like Bank there was so much I could've bought, however I don't have the money or the space in my wardrobe! I did however, buy this. I loved the lace style detail and the cut out shoulders as it's just something a bit different and that I don't usually wear.

T-Shirt - New Look:

This could be one of my favourite things I've bought the past few weeks. I love anything to do with the sun, moon or stars and I just loved this design from the moment I saw it! (How cringe does that sound?!) There's not much else I can say other than I much I love, love, love this top! So I'll just move on...

T-Shirt - New Look:

The final top I bought was this one. I just love oversized t-shirts that have a large image or some text on it, so this was perfect. It will be great just around the house, but I also think it would look good with some black skinny jeans, a leather jacket and some black boots.

Skort-  New Look:

I've always been quite against skorts and just thought I would look hideous in one. I struggle to pull off a skirt or shorts as it is, so mix the two together and I thought it would be the perfect nightmare! However after trying this on, I think I may have been converted. I love the material, which is much lighter than I thought it would be. I also have decided that I really like that it looks like a skirt, as I love to wear skirts as something a bit different, yet the fact it's actually shorts means I don't have to worry about showing any unnecessary flesh at the back and can wear my 'skirt' without any fear.

I ordered this online and it's actually too big (what a great feeling) so I'm going to swap it at some point this week and can't wait to start wearing it!

The final thing I bought was a pair of boots from River Island, however I'm going to be posting the first part of My Shoe Collection at some point this month, so I'll talk about them then!

Thank you for reading!

The Weight Loss Diaries : Becoming Healthier

Let's see how long this lasts. Just like the past two years, I am vowing to lose weight and become healthier.

There are many, many reasons people choose to do this, I couldn't list them all, but I can tell you why I want to.

I've been unhappy with how I look for a long time. However, fortunately for me, the problem has always been my weight. Thankfully, I'm not unhappy with parts of my body that can't be changed without drastic action such as surgery. I have the option to lose weight, relatively easily, with some determination and hardwork.

I've promised myself I'd go through with this for a few years now but this year, I think, could be the year- for the following reasons:

Planning
I finally have a diet plan/programme to follow. Every other time I've attempted to lose weight I have followed a 'fad' diet that I would never be able to substain forever or for long periods; I've always set myself up to fail. However, this time I have found a plan that really suits me and is full of foods that I like!

Being Adventurous
The other day I tried grapes and blueberries. A lot of you probably don't think that's much of a big deal, but as someone who currently has NO fruit every single day and rarely eats vegetables, this is a big achievement for me. I have begun trying new things, and slowly broadening my food choices and options.

Drinking More Water
We all know that drinking lots of water is healthy and can help with weight loss and I think I've finally managed to do it! I now drink water with breakfast and dinner every single day and most of the time with my tea too.

Telling the Internet
Knowing that I have posted this on the Internet and that its online for all (including my friends) to see, motivates me more than if I was the only one who knew I was trying.

As you can see from the title I am calling this series The Weight Loss Diaries, and every time I lose weight I will tell you how much I lost, what sort of meals I ate that week and what exercise I did. I'm hoping this will help any of you that wish to lose weight too or be healthier.

Thank you for reading, and wish me luck! I'm gonna need it....!

My Lucky Bracelet

In a previous post you will have seen me mention my lucky bracelet and I actually posted a picture of it; a little purple one with two gold hearts. However since that post, most of you will have seen my 'What I Got For Christmas' post where I showed that I now have a new lucky bracelet and today I wanted to share it with you and explain why I have a lucky bracelet.

Obviously, above is a picture of my new lucky bracelet and I absolutely love it! It's by the gorgeous Stella & Dot and my mum bought it me for Christmas as she knew I like to have a lucky bracelet and my old one was only cheap so getting a bit tattered and worn. I absolutely love the Stella & Dot site as they sell such beautiful jewellery and accessories. I'll admit that to me, some of the prices do seem a little steep as, especially at my age, I'm more used to buying jewellery in H&M or Topshop, not proper jewellers or brands. However for gorgeous gifts or fabulous treats I think the site is just perfect, and of course to a lot of you the prices probably seem completely fine; they just stretch my 15 year old budget a tad!

The bracelet is silver and as you can see it has a lovely little lucky horseshoe. Below you can see the back of the bracelet.

I love to have a lucky bracelet, but to me it's more for comfort than because of superstition. I like it as a sign of comfort and familiarity as often when you do exams or tests your in an uncomfortable environment; harsh lighting, stern teachers, stiff school uniform. Therefore I like to have that bit of familiarity. Something normal from home that's nice and that's yours.

So these next months this bracelet will be having plenty of outings for the countless exams I have coming up.

Do you have a lucky object? Has it always brought you good luck? Do you believe in luck? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Lush & Beauty Haul

Over the past few weeks I've bought several beauty items. Mostly just things I'd run out of; powder, mascara, concealer. I also treated myself to a couple of other beauty items as well as plenty from the Lush sale.

Everything I got is pretty self explanatory and most of it is very well known throughout the blogging world, and I'm sure all of you have used/heard of most of the things I bought. Therefore, I'm not going to go in to detail about all the products, but I thought I'd share some photos with you, of the things I got.

Enjoy...
