What I Got For Christmas- Part 3

I hope you all enjoyed my What I Got For Christmas series! I've really enjoyed writing it and today is my final part which is just all the bits and pieces that didn't fit in to the Fashion or Beauty categories. So let's get started...

Firstly, this year I got several pieces from Stella & Dot. They're an online company selling jewellery and accessories and I strongly recommend you having a look on their site because the things they sell are just beautiful and so is their packaging! This first piece, a necklace, was from my parents.

One of my auntie and uncles also bought me this bracelet from there which is lovely.

Finally, my parents also bought me this bracelet from Stella and Dot. My mum knew I love to have a lucky bracelet and you may have seen it before. However it's getting a bit old and grotty so she bought me this new one to wear for all exams I have, and other times I need a bit of luck. The bracelet is gorgeous and I love the packaging! It says 'Make your own luck'.

I'm not the biggest Zoella fan out there, however I do watch some of her videos, so obviously I heard about Girl Online. I'm excited to read this as it sounds like I'm going to relate to the book quite a lot.

When we moved house a year ago I took the chance to completely redesign the style of my bedroom, meaning I had to buy everything brand new as my old stuff wouldn't match the theme. This means for the past 2 Christmas' and my last birthday my mum has continued to buy me little bits and bobs for my room to fill it up with all the little things needed to make it feel homely. One of the things I got this Christmas was this butterfly which I hang from the Middle of my curtain pole.

The final piece of jewellery I received this year was this little bracelet from H&M which will go with so many of the outfits I wear!

Another book I got this year, which should help me with my New Year Goal of reading more, was Christmas with Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher. I am a hugeeee fan of Giovanna and I love her books so I'm super excited to read this!!!

My and my mum have planned to hang lots of photos on one of the walls in my bedroom, in all different frames of different shapes and sizes, so my mum bought me a few for Christmas to get us started!

This little mouse is made with a very long tail which is designed for hanging your rings on! I think this is such a cute idea and I'm definitely going to put this pride of place on my dressing table!

It isn't Christmas without receiving mounds of chocolate! I should probably add that the bar of white chocolate is from Aldi and I would highly advise you all to go and buy some because it is the nicest chocolate ever! My nanna bought me that bar beause every time I'm staying at her house I ask her to get me some!

This gorgeous little box is what I'm now going to use for storing all of my bracelets. I love the design of this, it's perfect for my room.

So that is it, all of the things I received for Christmas! I loved writing this series and hope you enjoyed reading it as I know I love this kind of post!

Thank you very much for all of your views, follows and comments over the past few months. I've been so overwhelmed by the response I've had, which I know isn't much but it's far more than I imagined I'd recieve in my first 3 months!

Thank you once again! I hope you all have a fabulous night welcoming in the New Year!

What I Got For Christmas- Part 2 : Fashion

Welcome to the second part of my What I Got For Christmas series! Today I'll share with you all the fashion bits and pieces I received this Christmas. Here goes...

Firstly was this top from River Island. I actually knew I was going to be getting it as I was with my mum when I saw it and she offered to get it me, but I had to wait till Christmas Day to open it. I don't normally like sleeveless tops very much but I really liked the design of this.

Secondly was this backpack from New Look. I have a couple of handbags but sometimes I much prefer to use a backpack as it can be easier and more practical. However the only one I had was my school bag which is pretty dirty after using every day, so my mum bought me this to use instead.

These two tops are also from River Island-

The first one I don't think I'll wear for a while as, for me, it's quite bright and colourful (ridiculous I know but I normally only wear black!) So I'll save this until it's ever so slightly warmer!

The final fashion item I received for Christmas was this top. Ignoring the terrible picture with the creases and messed up sleeves, I really like it! I find it quite funny, easily pleased I know, and I liked it even more as I know my mum will have traced it down for me. A little while ago I saw someone wearing it on TV and mentioned that I liked it, so I found it really sweet that she went out and found this for me.

I really hope you enjoyed this post. Come back tomorrow for the final edition of my What I Got For Christmas series.

What I Got For Christmas- Part 1 : Beauty

Today I'm writing the first part of my What I Got For Christmas series. As mentioned in my last post I'm going to be breaking everything up in to sections and today I'm going to show you all of the beauty items I got! So let's get started!

The only thing I asked for, for Christmas this year was the Real Techniques Nic's Picks Collection. I've only used 3 of them so far but I've been loving them and my favourite is definitely the Duo Fibre Face Brush!

This year, one of my aunties got me the Sexy and Scrumptious Benefit Gift Set. It's in a gorgeous tin and contains a highlighter, two lip glosses, eyeshadows, a mascara and a blush. I haven't had chance to use it yet but I love it already as I have been dying to try the highlighter and mascara for ages!

Also this year, my mum surprised me with a few makeup items that I wasn't expecting at all and I couldn't be happier with them!

Firstly she got me the Benefit Instant Brow Pencil. So far I think it's been quite nice. I'm going to have to have a bit more of a play with it though, as I have never used a pencil on my brows before.

I also received 2 things from Mac. The first was this gorgeous lip gloss in the shade Like Venus, which I love so much as it goes with every makeup look I wear!

The second is this lovely blush in the shade DollyMix. I am obsessed with blush, I don't even wear that much of it but it's one of, if not, my favourite makeup item so I was so happy to receive a Mac one and I really like this colour.

The best, and last, beauty product I received this year was the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette!! I have been longing for one of the naked palettes for so long and although I mentioned that I like them, I did not expect to get one, so I am so happy with it and have been looking after it like its my baby, ever since Christmas Day!!

So there are all the beauty products I received this year for Christmas. I hope you enjoyed this post and if you come back at the same time tomorrow I will be posting another part of my What I Got For Christmas series which will be the Fashion section.

*Just like all other bloggers I wanted to add that my 'what I got for christmas' posts are not intended to be seen as me showing off or bragging in any way. I, like many others, love to see what people got for Christmas and I want to document it to look back at when I'm older, so I apologise if you do not like these posts but I will be back to normal again in a couple of weeks.*

Christmas Day 2014!

Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a fabulous 25th of December and if you celebrated Christmas I hope that it was happy and filled with fun and laughter!

I thought I'd share a few pictures of what I got up to this Christmas Day...

Once again, I hope you all had a fab day and in the next few weeks I will hopefully write my 'What I Got For Christmas' posts. I think that instead of writing quite a long post, I will instead break my gifts into several smaller posts, such as beauty, fashion and homeware, so I can write a little more about each item. I hope you like this idea.

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

Evening all and Merry Christmas Eve!!!

I just wanted to post today as I'm not sure when I'll next have the chance, seen as though for the next week or so I'm going to be all over the place visiting friends and family! I thought I would share with you some of the things I got up to this Christmas Eve. I've seen a couple of posts on this today so I thought it'd be fun to join in!

The first thing I do, on every day in December, is turn over my countdown to Christmas and have the final piece of my advent calendar. I swear they use to include one for Christmas morning, but the past few years mine haven't.

Like most years, when I walked out of my room this morning I was greeted with a little pile of gifts from my mum and a note that read 'It's nearly Christmas! All we need for a Merry Christmas Eve!'. The pile included mini chocolate santas, my new pjs (that you will have seen in my previous post), a vanilla bath bomb, hot chocolate and popcorn.

Then it had my nails painted by my mum as I am absolutely shocking at painting my nails. I can't do anything like that, I'm far too heavy-handed! I painted them with a gel polish which was just from asda and it's a lovely, deep-wine colour.

When I got dressed I just wore a cardigan and leggings with my Christmas Mickey Mouse top that I have worn every Christmas Eve for the past 3/4 years! Here's a picture of me in it, posing with my Christmas glass, cos I'm just that cool:

I did quite a lot of reading today, and I am finally getting closer to finishing Gone Girl! It has taken me months to read this book as I just can't find the time when I'm at school! Which is extremely frustrating as I used to read a book or two a month!

Also today, me and my mum watched a film, which is a Christmas Eve tradition! We always like to watch a Christmas film to get us in the spirit and today we watched Arthur Christmas which I actually went to the cinema to watch when it came out about 3 years ago! I really love Arthur Christmas, especially for a cartoon which I sometimes don't really like, I think it's such a good film!

This evening we went round to see two of my younger cousins, who are 3 and 5, and while my mum and auntie began preparing Christmas dinner for tomorrow, I helped my cousins leave out a mince pie, carrot and milk for Santa and Rudolph. I love the magic of Christmas when there are little ones around. It just isn't the same as you get older so I'm really glad I'm spending Christmas Day with them as I love to see their faces as they tell you what Father Christmas left for them under the tree!

Finally, all that was left to do was curl up on the sofa in my new fluffy pjs and watch a little bit of TV before bedtime!

I hope that everybody reading this has a very Merry Christmas, or a very Happy Holidays. Regardless of what holidays you celebrate at this time of year, if any, I hope you enjoy the final weeks of 2014!

Have a magical time,
X

Reflection Tag: 2014!!

Today I decided to do the Reflection Tag! I found these questions on the internet but the set I found hadn't been used since 2008, so I'm going to recycle them and change them up abit to suit this past year. I'm also going to include one of my favourite pictures from the year under each question.
So let's get started-

Enjoy!

1. What was the single best thing that happened this past year?

Nothing massive has happened this year, however there have been a few little things that I'm really glad happened. For example: I joined my local youth cabinet and discovered something new that I love, I went on visits to London and Paris (my favourite cities), I started my GCSEs and they're going extremely well and I went camping for the first time!

2. What was the single most challenging thing that happened?

Around April time I really struggled with my self and started showing symptoms of social anxiety. After visits to the doctor and a therapist I started CBT sessions but they didn't really work for me, so in September I stopped going and began learning how to deal with it myself.

3. What was an unexpected joy this past year?

I met Pixiwoo and Jim Chapman!

4. What was an unexpected obstacle?

The only thing I can think of is the same as question 2.

5. Pick three words to describe 2014.

Rewarding, difficult and thought-provoking.

6. Pick three words your best friend would use to describe your 2014 (don’t ask them; guess based on how you think they see you).

Challenging, happy, different.

7. Pick three words your best friend would use to describe their 2014 (again, without asking).

Fun, hardwork, happy.

8. What were the best books you read this year?

The Two Week Wait- Sarah Rayner

The Fault in Our Stars- John Green

The Hobbit- J.R.R Tolkien

The Cuckoos Calling- Robert Galbraith ( J.K Rowling)

9. With whom were your most valuable relationships?

My mum, like she is every year and Aimee! I feel like we 'rekindled' our friendship and became close again.

10. What was your biggest personal change from January to December of this past year?

This would again be the same as questions 2 and 4, but I would also say that I think I've matured a lot this year. I've had to deal with things I wouldn't normally deal with, and especially the past few months I've become more opinionated and strong minded than I've ever been.

11. In what way(s) did you grow emotionally?

I think I've become a lot stronger emotionally. I'm able to deal with things more easily than in the past, but sometimes I struggle to tell people how I'm really feeling, which is something I should work on.

12. In what way(s) did you grow spiritually?

I think I've become a better person in some ways. Others will probably not notice the changes, but I've begun to appreciate smaller things in life this year. I've begun to enjoy things like the night sky and taking long walks. Also, this year I have spent a lot less time on my phone/social media than normal, which has made me much calmer and happier. I've also started to have stronger opinions on things like sexism, mental health and homophobia and feel like I desperately want to do something to make a change. This is the first time I've ever felt passionate about such issues, which again makes me see the changes I've been through as a person.

13. In what way(s) did you grow physically?

I don't think I've grown in any way physically, unless you mean me growing in height, in which case I have!

14. In what way(s) did you grow in your relationships with others?

I think my relationships have slightly changed this year, in ways I wouldn't have predicted. I've become closer to people I didn't think I'd be close with, and drifted from people I thought I'd always be close to. But every thing happens for a reason and so long as I'm happy I try and take everything in my stride.

15. What was the most enjoyable area of managing your home?

Maybe I'm reading this question wrong, I don't know, but I don't manage a home, my mum does!

16. What was your most challenging area of home management?

This is the same answer as the previous question!

17. What was your single biggest time waster in your life this past year?

Worrying over change and grades. I worry A LOT!!! But I worry all the time over change in my life, despite me being a strong believer in 'Everything Happens for a Reason'. I'm getting better at accepting that things just won't always be the same though. I also worry and get upset over grades, far too often. I put a lot of pressure on my self to do well, and at the end of the day I know I'm going to do well if I try my best, so I know deep down I need to stop piling on the pressure and just take things a bit more easily.

18. What was the best way you used your time this past year?

I think writing this blog had been a great way to spend my spare time. When I write on my blog I feel like a weight has been lifted as I just get everything off my mind. I also enjoy writing posts about serious issues. So far I've done posts entitled 'Who Needs Labels' and 'The Truth About Sexism'. I love writing these posts because they are the closest I can get to getting my voice heard, as very often at my age nobody takes me seriously.

19. What was the biggest thing you learned this past year?

1) I'm a lot stronger than I think.

2) I can conquer anything if I put my mind to it.

3) People lie and people pretend to be something they're not. You just have to learn to spot the fake people from the real friends.

20. Create a phrase or statement that describes 2014 for you.

In 2014 I learnt a lot about myself. I found my voice and passions and I began to develop a clearer image of what I want to achieve in the future. I feel like I've developed a sense of meaning and purpose in the world and I now have the drive that's making me want to do great things, see amazing sights, teach and educate people on the issues that are important to me and make a difference to someone or something.

I really hope you enjoyed reading about my year as much as I enjoyed writing about. I also hope you enjoyed looking back at some of my favourite pictures from the year.
